Profile of Mr. Nnamonso Ekanem, SAN
Nnamonso Ekanem, SAN, was born on 2 April 1958. He hails from Akwa-Ibom State and is happily married. He possesses a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, in 1979 and a Barrister at Law (BL) from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. He also possesses a Certificate in Maritime Law from the Institute of Maritime Law, University of Southampton, United Kingdom.
In 1991, the Chief Justice of Nigeria appointed Nnamonso Ekanem as a Notary Public, and in 2016 he became a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
During the trajectory of his career, he held the following positions: Vice Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Kaduna Branch (1988–1990); Member, National Executive of the Nigerian Bar Association (2004–2020); Chairman, NBA Disciplinary Committee (North-West) (2014–2018); Chairman, NBA Kaduna Branch Electoral Committee (2012); and Council Member, Legal Aid Council (2008–2012).
Nnamonso Ekanem, SAN, was appointed as a Member of the Federal Judicial Service Commission on 21 February 2022 by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
